Labour Productivity Dynamics: Regional Aspects
The paper considers the techniques for measuring and assessing regional labour productivity and its dynamics and differences. It compares the results obtained by applying the different techniques, and can state that the trends identified according to different methods, display a little difference. Only the indicator of a real labour productivity compared to wage shows a higher difference and results in higher ratings of the regions where wages are relatively low. A high share of extractive industries in regions is a key factor of a high labour productivity. The labour productivity and its dynamics show a strong sectoral difference. The growth of a total labour productivity in regions can be explained by the increased efficiencies but not by relocation of production and labour forces to the regions with higher indicators of efficiency

Regional Environmental Impacts of Coal Industry and Development Prospects according to a Decoupling Model
The paper analyzes ecologic impacts of coal mining observed in industrial regions and it presents a case-study for Kemerovo Oblast. We can state that the increased coal production brings higher pollution of water basins whereas its impact on the atmosphere is not so unambiguous. There is also no effect of decoupling observed in the region. We obtain the statistical estimates of environmental pollution from the increased coal production and recommend a number of institutional and economic tools to reduce ecologic impacts which would contribute to transition to a decoupling model of the development by the region

Aging population: problems and tendencies
We analyze the topical issues of mutual influence of the economy and population ageing taken place in the Russian regions. We formulate the basic arrangements the government should make towards the elderly people in the context of economic globalization and an increased influence of economic factors on the shifting age structure of the population.

Accelerated socio-economic development in the Russian regions: factors and mechanisms
The paper presents the authors' techniques and analysis of how GRP dynamics depends on key factors of economic growth in different RF regions. We identified the conditions, challenges, and limitations (such as macro-structural and resource limitations, socio-economic challenges, and effectiveness) which impact the development in the regions of the Russian Far East. For the regions of Siberia and Ural, we made a cluster analysis based on the levels of development of primary and secondary sectors of the economy. We also can state that there is a negative correlation between the regional resource development and regional capital productivity growth.

Regional disparities in Russia: ecological aspect
The paper makes an ecointensity analysis of the economies of the RF regions over the crisis and post-crisis periods. We apply the Gini coefficient, and Atkinson and Theil indices. Having made a comparative analysis of the results obtained, we can state that according to the indices under study, there is a significant regional inequality observed.

Impact of innovation dynamics on regional development of an economic system
The paper analyses the innovation dynamics of regional systems through a synergic approach. Such innovation dynamics reflects non-linear interrelations of non-equilibrium processes of capital renewal, technological changes and economic growth in regional industrial systems. Non-linear dependence of the economic growth on the innovation dynamics are shown in case of some regions.

Assessing the share of environmental costs in GRP
The paper proves that natural capital depletion should be taken into account in assessing a level of regional economic development. The problems of correcting GRP are discussed. We present our cost estimates of environmental damage caused by economic activity and experienced by Russia and the regions of the Siberian Federal Region. Our estimates were made on the base of a cost approach

Methodologies of analyzing inter-regional income inequalities
The paper provides an overview of methodologies applied to analyzing inter-regional income inequalities such as a cross-section approach, a time-series approach, and a distribution dynamics approach. In the paper we present some of them and describe the domains of their applicability.

Cohesion in bio-pharmacological cluster
The paper analyses the innovation aspects of how a bio-pharmacological cluster operate, including that concerning the connectedness of such cluster. We state that contacts with contractors within a cluster are of critical importance for any cluster's company as any contractor could be regarded as a supplier of new ideas, technologies and innovations for the cluster. On the other hand, the high transaction costs are a major institutional force which limits the cluster's growth.
