EXPORT OF SERVICES FROM THE URALS, SIBERIA AND THE FAR EAST AS A FACTOR IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE GREATER EURASIAN PARTNERSHIP

 As part of the concept of establishing the Greater Eurasian Partnership (GEP), announced in 2015 by Russian President Vladimir Putin, trade between
Russia and Asian countries is growing rapidly, with trade in services playing a significant role. The aim of this study is to analyze the shift of Russian service exports toward the East, using Russia’s Asian regions as an example, and to identify avenues for increasing these exports through the development of the GEP. A comparative analysis was conducted of the volume and structure of service exports from Russia’s federal districts, particularly the Ural, Sibe­rian, and Far Eastern districts, ranked by individual regions and types of services, which revealed the presence of a general eastward trend and regional specificities in its growth. The representation of BEP countries in the service exports of the analyzed regions was assessed. The analysis showed that service exports are importantfor the development of Russia’s trade and economic cooperation with BEP countries, which confirmed the study’s hypothesis. Regions are establishing footholds for this growth. Directions for promoting service exports to BEP countries have been substantiated, based on Russia’s participation in international megaprojects within the BEP frame­work in the areas of transport and energy, industry and innovation, culture and tourism, and marketing and digital infrastructure.
