The Editorial Board of the Journal Region: Economics and Sociology has undergone a rotation.
The Editorial Board now includes the following new members:

• Kravchenko, Nataliya Aleksandrovna – Doctor of Economics, Acting Head of Department at the Institute of Economics and Industrial Engineering SB RAS (Novosibirsk, Russia);
• Pálné Kovács, Ilona – member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Professor, Director of the Institute for Regional Studies Centre for Economic and Regional Studies HAS (Pécs, Hungary);
• Pelyasov Aleksandr Nikolaevich – Doctor of Geography, Director of the Center for Northern and Arctic Economies, Council for the Study of Productive Forces (Moscow, Russia).

The Editorial Board has excluded the following members:

• Horváth, Gyula – Doctor of Economics, Professor, Scientific Advisor at the Institute for Regional Studies Centre for Economic and Regional Studies of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (owing to his death);
• Titov, Vladislav Vladimirovich – Doctor of Economics, Chief Researcher at the Institute of Economics and Industrial Engineering SB RAS (by his own volition);

The Editorial Board of the Journal Region: Economics and Sociology extend their most sincere gratitude to Dr. V.V. Titov for the many years of fruitful work at the journal. It was he who has made the greatest contribution to the “Economics of Enterprises” column.

The Journal Region: Economics and Sociology has entered the list of 652 Russian journals included into the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) hosted within the Web of Science platform as an independent database, but fully integrated with the Web of Science, similar to the Chinese (Chinese Science Citation Database) and Latin American (SciELO Citation Index) scientific citation indices. The inclusion of RSCI in the Web of Science with the following identification of co-citation between Web of Science and RSCI publications coupled with the discovered opportunity to search for Russian publications and authors in the Web of Science will immensely improve the accessibility and strengthen the credibility of Russian academic journals in the global information space, as well as enhance the quality of Russian journals by upgrading them to international standards.

In accordance with the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, on December 1, 2015, the Higher Attestation Commission published a list of peer-reviewed scientific periodicals that should contain main scientific findings of candidate theses and doctoral dissertations. It is confirmed that, as before, the Journal Region: Economics and Sociology has entered the List within the following specialties: 08.00.00 – economics; 22.00.00 – sociology.

Moreover, the Journal Regional Research of Russia, which includes the best articles from the Journal Region: Economics and Sociology, is enlisted in the international Scopus bibliographic database. Articles from all the issues of this journal (since No. 1-2011) are indexed in the database.
